Cheltenham Trials Day: 10 Year Tends Selections

As we hurtle towards the end of January, the biggest event of the National Hunt season looms ever larger on the horizon. The endless stream of preview nights will soon be finding full stride ahead of the mighty Cheltenham Festival, as punters make their final plans. Expert panels aside, there are still plenty of clues to glean from the action on the track, and this coming Saturday sees one of the most significant pre-Festival fixtures as Cheltenham plays host to Trials Day.

There are eight races are on offer from Prestbury Park, including a selection of excellent handicaps, informative Novice events, and high-class graded contests. Here, we run through the key trends from the past ten years in each event before using the suggested stats to zero in on the best trends fit in each race. Note that many races have only nine results over the 10 years examined – predominantly due to the enforced abandonments of 2021.
