This horse has been held off the track with this race in mind for some time now, last time we saw him he was running over the national fences in December. He finished second, jumped really well and looked as though he had plenty left to give after running 3m2f, which looks well for his staying abilities.
Lord Du Mensil
This horse may not have the same quality as some of the others in the contest, but for the past couple of years he has been aiming towards being a regular runner in this kind of event. Aged eight, he has youth on his side compared to some, but does have plenty of jumping experience too. He has a nice light weight, stays all day, jumps well and can run his race.
Definitly Red
Ran a nice race behind Cloth Cap at Kelso when lacking fitness and will have come on a lot for that. The better ground here will help him too, he has Aintree experience and will stay the trip. He’s 12, so at the end of his career, but at a huge price, don’t be surprised to see this horse run a big race.
