This could let out a secret, something that Bundesliga fans have known for a while. This league is potentially the most exciting league to watch from the big leagues around Europe. The stats on goals back it up too, let’s take a look at what the league offers in terms of goals and other things.

Goals

If you want goals, Germany is where you go for them. When comparing the Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1 and Serie A, the Bundesliga comes out on top in terms of average goals per game over the past five years. This is 2.98, meaning that fans have been given an average of just under three goals per game for the past five seasons.

This season has been better than ever before too. The league is currently averaging 3.25 goals per game, which is 0.53 goals per game higher than the Premier League. Assuming 10 games take place across a weekend, that is over five goals per game more than the Premier League, every single week of the season.

Those tuning into the Bundesliga for the very first time this weekend and for the next few weeks, may be surprised at the number of goals that are scored on a regular basis in this league.

This number is far smaller than La Liga at 57.3 points per game and Serie A at 53.7, showing that those leagues have more bookings and likely more stoppages in play. This means the Bundesliga compares better to the Premier League and often has a great flow about games with few stoppages.
