Talk To The Man and Crystal Island make the shortlist, but the one we like is Cristal d’Estruval. Unbeaten in three starts, his maiden hurdle victory reads particularly well. Baron Noir, who finished second in that Warwick contest, has since finished third in a Grade 1 at Aintree, while third-place finisher Bossman Jack rounded off last season with a 5½l success in the Grade 1 Mersey Novices’ Hurdle at the same meeting.

Doncaster Racing Tips: Virgin Bet November Handicap – 7 November

Doncaster sets the stage for the final major handicap of the British Flat season, with a big field expected for the November Handicap. 2025 champ Castle Cove returns to defend his crown, but the stats suggest he is up against it. Since the inaugural edition of 1876, no horse has won the race more than once.

The unexposed duo of Nobody Knows and Alfred Wincham make the shortlist, but neither has been missed by the market. At a bigger price, I prefer an each-way punt on the Liam Bailey runner, Say What You See. In two previous outings off his current mark of 93, he has finished third and fourth in competitive handicaps, while his career form figures over this 1m4f trip read 2-1-1-3. With four places on offer, he looks worth an each-way bet.

Manchester United v Aston Villa Betting Tips – Sunday 8 November 2026

Manchester United stopped the rot in that thrilling comeback win against Roma in the Champions League in midweek, but still sit fourth bottom of the Premier League and are only outside the drop zone on goal difference. Aston Villa, meanwhile, were humbled by Barcelona in their Champions League assignment and will seek to maintain a top-half position with a positive result at Old Trafford.

Despite their up-and-down form over the past few seasons, United have a good recent home record against Villa, winning 3-2 in 2023/24, 2-0 in 2024/25, and 3-1 in 2025/26. Villa have won their last two on the road, but caught Spurs at a good time and didn’t need to do much to beat a poor Newcastle outfit. However, it’s hard to trust a Man Utd side that has shipped seven goals in four home league games, with the only win coming against Ipswich. The result looks tough to call, but United’s defensive vulnerability, combined with their good attacking record against Villa, should lead to an entertaining encounter. Over 2.5 goals and both teams to score are solid options, but my preference is for 3.5 goals, with the in-form Nicolas Jackson to get on the scoresheet.
