What is a Goliath Bet and How Does it Work?
As the name suggests, a goliath bet is a very big one, and certainly not for the faint-hearted! This is the biggest multiple out there, combining eight selections and a huge 247 bets to give you monster coverage across your bet.
What is a Goliath Bet?
There is nothing bigger than a goliath in terms of the multiples you can place, if you want the biggest bet with the most coverage then this is it. This bet covers doubles and above for eight selections, with every possible scenario covered. There are no singles in this bet, so if you are only lucky enough to have one winner then you will not receive a return for your bet.
The issue for some with a goliath is that the size of it comes with a big price tag. Even if you lowered your unit stake to just 20p, that would still result in a goliath bet that cost you £49.40 so it is an expensive bet to place.

Why Place a Goliath Bet?
A goliath is the bet to turn to if you are looking for complete coverage. If you have eight selections and want to cover absolutely everything except singles then this is the bet for you. The more winners you have, the more winning bets you will get a return from and if you can manage a few winners, you will have numerous winning bets. For example, four winners gives you 11 winning bets but if you can manage to get five winners that jumps up to 26.
Can You Place an Each Way Goliath?
An each way goliath is available to players, although the cost of that means that few people do this. The number of bets are doubled when you place an each way bet, so that also means the cost is doubled. This means if you place a 20p goliath like above but do it each way, you are looking at a bet that costs you £98.80.
Alternatives to a Goliath
With the cost putting people off a goliath on some occasions, many people look for alternatives and perhaps the best way is to split your bet into two different yankees. You don’t get the full coverage across all eight when placing two yankees but you do get two different bets of four for a much lower cost. With just 11 bets in a yankee, placing two is only 22 bets and a lot less than the 247 in a goliath.
The problem you will encounter here is if you have winners in both bets as you don’t have the crossover coverage to get a pay out on this, but if your winners are in the same bet then you will be paid out on the doubles, trebles and accumulator winners that you have.
