Netherlands vs Argentina – Friday 9th December 7pm

Neither of these sides have exactly dazzled as yet, but both have been pretty consistent – barring Argentina’s aberration in their opener against Saudi Arabia. Lionel Messi and co have however hit a similar level statistically in all of their matches, basing their game on a rock-solid defence and sneaking just enough at the other end. The Netherlands meanwhile have looked at their most dangerous on the break, but may get few such opportunities to counter here. This looks like being tight early, with Argentina taken to win it late.

Morocco vs Portugal – Saturday 10th December 3pm

Having broken Spanish hearts in the Last 16, it’s another Iberian Nation up next for surprise package Morocco. Boasting the best defensive record in the competition, they seem unlikely to come out of their shells too much here and attempt to hit Portugal on the break. Given the mileage they put in against Spain however, there must be some doubt as to whether they can withstand what likes to be another 90 minutes of relentless pressure. England vs France – Saturday 10th December 7pm

A simply huge clash between two European heavyweights rounds off the action and has all the makings of a thriller.
