Tyson Fury will take on Deontay Wilder this weekend in a heavyweight bout that is already been described by some as the fight of the year. These two have met before, and that was a thrilling encounter, and now we get to see them take each other on again.
How to Watch on TV & Ring Walk Times
The eagerly anticipated event will be live on BT Sport Box Office in the UK. With the event taking place in Las Vegas, don’t expect a UK friendly fight time though!
As ever with events on the west coast of Australia, the ring walks are expected to take place between 4am and 5am depending on other action earlier on the bill.
This means an early start or a late finish for UK fans wanting to tune in, but that won’t put too many off as it is expected to be a classic.
What Happened in the First Meeting?
The first meeting was a fantastic clash of two very different boxing styles, with the bout ending in a split decision draw.
Fury used the ring to move around and keep Wilder at arms length, enough for him to win the most rounds in the contest. However, the Bronze Bomber knocked Fury to the canvas twice in the 9th and 12th rounds to win those.
The general feeling from that fight is that Fury is the better boxer, and can out box Wilder once again, but the American is certainly the bigger puncher and if he connects then he will cause all sorts of problems for the Gypsy King.
For Fury, this will be a case of winning each individual round as it comes and keeping away from the huge hands of Wilder with his slick movement. Wilder will be looking to remain patient and be ready to land a big one should the opportunity ever arise for him during the contest.
Fury vs Wilder II Predictions
The bookmakers are struggling to split these two in what should be another fascinating clash. If there is a knockdown in this bout then it is likely to go the way of Deontay Wilder, who have far greater punching power than Fury.
If the fight goes the distance then that is more likely to favour Fury, who will use his ring craft to frustrate and out box Wilder, similar to what he did in the first meeting. If he can avoid being knocked down then it is hard to see Wilder consistently winning rounds throughout the fight, and that means a bout that goes the distance is strongly in favour of Tyson Fury.
