French Open Weekend Preview-Betting Tips
We are down to the semi-final stage of the Men’s French Open title, and just like before the event started, Rafael Nadal continues to be a strong favourite to win the event. He should have too much in hand over the other three remaining, regardless of who he plays although his odds suggest that.
If you are looking for value in the semi-finals then that appears to be with the underdog winning a set, something that looks capable of happening in each of the two games. Rafael Nadal was under pressure when his game went off with a rain delay, and Juan Martin Del Potro has every chance of taking a set off him if he is unfazed when facing the Spanish giant. A 3-1 Nadal win in the semi-final on Friday is priced up at 11/4 with Sun Bets and looks good value.
The same bet looks to be value in the other semi-final, between Dominic Thiem and Marco Cecchinato. This tournament has been a dream for Cecchinato, and his victory over Novak Djokovic in the quarter final was the highlight of his career so far. He looks likely to come unstuck against Thiem here, but can give a value bet by taking a set. A 3-1 victory to Thiem is priced up at 13/5 with Black Type and that looks to be a nice value bet.
As for the final, Nadal looks likely to be a short priced favourite assuming he gets there on Friday. His vulnerability is still an issue though, and I’d be looking to back him to win 3-1 or 3-2 rather than a 3-0 whitewash depending on his opponent.
