ComeOn to Close Doors on UK Players – What Should You Do?

It has been announced that bookmaker ComeOn will close its UK operation at the end of September. The bookmaker will now focus on other markets and has cited ‘strategic business reasons’ for closing down their UK facing platform.

They will instead focus on other markets instead of the UK, mainly around Europe. The UK market is a very competitive environment, with many bookmakers trying to win business, whereas other markets are not as saturated, which is now where ComeOn will be focusing on.

The news will come as a blow to those who already have a betting account with ComeOn and enjoy their service, however you now need to focus on what you need to do to ensure you know when to stop betting, and when to remove your funds from the account to avoid any delays. The decision to close also affects their associated brands too, which are GetLucky.com and MobileBet.com alongside ComeOn.com and the same rules and dates apply to those.

Here are the dates you need to look out for:

On 23^rd September, ComeOn will stop accepting new players from the UK market
On 27^th September, ComeOn will stop accepting deposits from existing players in the UK
29^th September is the last day that players can withdraw funds in the usual way
On 30^th September all accounts will be deactivated which means restricted access
If you need to withdraw funds from September 30^th onwards you will have to contact ComeOn customer support

It is also worth noting the following, for customers that have placed ante-post bets with them, which extend past the 30^th September deadline that the following applies:

“All bets due to be settled on or after the deactivation date will be cancelled and stakes will be refunded.”

This means that regardless of how your bet looks at the time, if it is not completed by 30^th September then it will be voided and your stake will be returned. There will be no early payouts, and no one will lose their stake based on how the bet has done so far. With ante-post betting continuing to be popular, it is expected that this will affect some players.
