Wimbledon 2025: Best Bets for the Men’s and Women’s Singles
For football fans, the early summer months can be the longest of the year. However, the sporting world has far more to offer than the latest round of Premier League fixtures. For tennis aficionados, the spectacular highlight arrives as June turns to July.
We are, of course, referring to the distinctive spectacle provided at SW19 as the stars of the tennis world arrive for the latest edition of Wimbledon.
There may be four majors on the calendar, but none quite compare to the Wimbledon Championships. Established in 1877, the crown jewel of British tennis is not only the oldest of the four majors but the oldest tennis tournament – at any level – on the planet. It is also the only major to take place on grass – a surface which demands the most diverse skill set from its champions.
Kicking off on Monday, June 30 and concluding with the men’s final on Sunday, July 13, Wimbledon offers two weeks of the finest sporting entertainment on British soil – all free to watch on the BBC. As ever, we will be grabbing the Pimms and settling down to take in the action, and we can't resist upping the excitement with a bet or two. Here, using info presented by NewBettingSites.uk, we pick out our best bets for the men’s and women’s singles.
Men’s Singles: The Main Contenders
- Carlos Alcaraz, 6/5 with QuinnBet - Where else to begin than with the 2023 and 2024 champion? Still only 22 years of age, Spanish sensation Alcaraz has already won three of the four majors, with the Australian Open the only event missing from his burgeoning CV. Needing five sets to master seven-time winner Novak Djokovic in 2023, he mastered the Serb in a sizzling three sets 12 months ago. Arriving on an 18-match winning streak and with a near 90% career win percentage on grass, the 2025 French Open champ may be tough to stop in his bid for a Wimbledon hattrick.
- Jannik Sinner, 17/10 with BetGoodwin - Alcaraz edges favouritism in most betting lists, but it is the hugely popular Jannik Sinner who arrives as the world number one. The ice-cool Sinner boasts a 19-2 win/loss record in 2025, but one of those defeats came against Alcaraz in the French Open Final. Whilst perfectly capable on grass – making the semi-final here in 2023 – his two major wins have come on hard courts.
- Novak Djokovic, 13/2 with BetMGM - Seeming a near certainty to match Roger Federer’s tally of eight Wimbledon wins, it is now starting to look as though it might not happen for Novak Djokovic at the age of 38. Nevertheless, it is impossible to dismiss a player who has lost only two matches here since 2018. Allowing himself a lighter schedule in the lead-up to this year’s tournament, could he have one last win in him?
Men’s Singles: Interesting Outsiders
- Jack Draper, 16/1 with QuinnBet - Now up to number four in the world, Jack Draper arrives as Britain’s great hope in 2025. Whilst sure to be a huge crowd favourite, he has never made it beyond the second round here, with his game seemingly more suited to the hard courts in Melbourne and New York. That said, he does have a grass court title to his name (Stuttgart 2024) and could go deep if finding his rhythm early.
- Taylor Fritz, 40/1 with BetMGM - At more than twice the price of Draper, big-hitting American Taylor Fritz makes more each-way appeal. Arriving on the back of a win in the 2025 edition of the Boss Open in Stuttgart, he reached the 2024 US Open Final and has twice made the quarterfinals here
- Recommended Win Bet - Carlos Alcaraz @ 6/5 with QuinnBet
- Best Each Way Bet - Taylor Fritz @ 40/1 with BetMGM
Women’s Singles: The Main Contenders
- Aryna Sabalenka, 11/4 with PricedUp - The powerful Belarussian has the type of game which should be ideally suited to Wimbledon. As such, it is surprising that she has yet to claim the title – coming closest when reaching the semi-finals in 2021 and 2023. Having missed the 2024 edition through injury, Sabalenka has returned with three successive finals in majors – winning in the US but losing to Madison Keys in Australia and Coco Gauff in Paris. Rock solid to go well, but the women’s event looks open in 2025.
- Elena Rybakina, 6/1 with QuinnBet - Kazakhstani ace Rybakina may sit just outside the top 10 in the global rankings but is the clear second favourite to claim this crown. Boasting one of the strongest serves in the women’s game, she swept to victory in 2022, before reaching the quarters in 2023 and semis in 2024. Sabalenka mastered Rybakina in Berlin recently, but it took her three sets and two tie breaks to do so.
- Coco Gauff, 7/1 with QuinnBet - Having long looked like a Slam winner in waiting, 21-year-old US star Gauff finally picked up a first title in the 2023 US Open and added a second in Paris this year. Able to perform on quick hard surfaces and slow clay, she should be able to cope with grass on paper. However, in five previous visits to Wimbledon, she has never made it beyond the fourth round. Knocked out in the first round in Berlin, she needs to step up markedly to feature.
Women’s Singles: Interesting Outsiders
- Iga Swiatek, 8/1 with PricedUp - Former World number 1 Swiatek finds herself down in eighth in 2025. However, she is in solid form in the slams in 2025, having reached the semi-final stage in Australia and France. Set to face Jessica Pegula in the Bod Homburg Open Final on Saturday afternoon, she may arrive at Wimbledon on the back of a confidence-boosting grass court title
- Mirra Andreeva, 17/1 with BetMGM - If a youngster is to make a big splash this year, it may be the up-and-coming Mirra Andreeva. Only 18 years of age, her precise game has drawn comparisons with Justine Henin and Martina Hingis – both of whom reached the final here. Reaching the quarterfinals in France, she will hope to at least match that performance, despite a so-so record on grass
- Recommended Win Bet - Elena Rybakina @ 6/1 with QuinnBet
- Best Each Way Bet - Iga Swiatek @ 8/1 with PricedUp
