No Premier League action this week, but we do have a whole host of international fixtures as World Cup qualifying takes centre stage. For Thursday’s tip of the day, we highlight a solid treble to hopefully send us into the weekend on a punting high.

Kazakhstan vs Wales – Both Teams to Score

Wales currently sit second in Group J. However, with Group favourites Belgium having two games in hand, they must keep their foot on the gas. On paper, this trip to Astana provides Craig Bellamy’s men with an excellent chance to do just that. Wales won 3-1 in the reverse fixture and have won five of their last nine games. Kazakhstan, in contrast, have lost 13 of 16, with the only wins coming against Liechtenstein and Curacao.

Wales should be up to winning this, but odds of 8/15 are a little short for our liking, considering Wales’ two previous away fixtures have produced just one point. We prefer to take a chance on both teams to score at 6/5 with Spreadex. Kazakhstan only lost the shot count 12-10 in Wales and have notched at least once in four of their past five fixtures.

Georgia vs Turkey – Turkey to Win

Spain will surely top Group E, but Turkey ought to be confident of grabbing second place. Their opening fixture takes them to Tbilisi to face a Georgia outfit 40 positions below them in the global rankings. The most recent clash between the sides resulted in a 3-1 success for Turkey at Euro 2024 and a similar result may be on the cards. Having beaten a useful Hungary outfit 6-1 on aggregate in the UEFA Nations League, Arda Güler and co are overpriced at 5/4 with Spreadex to take all three points.

Luxembourg vs Northern Ireland

Luxembourg’s reputation as one of the whipping boys of European football is a thing of the past and they simply look too big at 29/10 with Spreadex to beat an average Northern Ireland outfit in this Group A opener. Luxembourg’s two most recent home fixtures have produced an excellent 1-0 win over Sweden and a narrow defeat at the hands of Slovenia – two sides rated significantly higher than Northern Ireland in the global rankings.
