Everton v Bournemouth Betting Tips, Predictions & Preview
Everton welcome Bournemouth to Goodison Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon and are big favourites to pick up all three points to potentially go within touching distance of sixth-placed Manchester United in their pursuit for European football. The Toffees have been in fine form in recent weeks, compared to the porous Cherries who not only can’t stop conceding but can’t buy a win of late, and their weekend meeting is likely to yield a home victory as a result. Everton have overcome a slow start under new manager Ronald Koeman, but Bournemouth seem to have spiralled after a bright first-half of the season. And given the Blues have already beaten Bournemouth at home only nine months ago, they’ll fancy their chances of a repeat. Home side Everton find themselves seventh in the Premier League table with 37 points from 23 games this season. Ronald Koeman’s side have won four and drawn two of their last half a dozen outings and could cut the gap to Manchester United to two points with a win over Bournemouth. The Toffees home form has been fantastic in recent weeks to give the Cherries something to worry about, boasting three wins from their last four at Goodison Park, and enjoyed a 2-1 victory the last time they hosted Eddie Howe’s side in the Premier League. After a sluggish start to life under Koeman, Everton are finally realising their potential as the “best of the rest” sitting just outside the top-six. They have a chance of catching United given the Red Devils have been dropping points of late, so they can’t entertain anything less than a home win this weekend if they are to get themselves into the Europa League. Everton are 3/4 with William Hill to win against AFC Bournemouth when the two sides lock horns on Saturday, and the poor form of the visitors is likely to see them falling short. Eddie Howe’s side started the campaign well but have faded in the New Year and can’t stop conceding goals. The Cherries are currently 14th in the Premier League table with 26 points, having gone four games without a win. They have picked up just one victory in the division in seven weeks, and risk losing their advantage over the relegation-threatened sides if they continue to drop points. Bournemouth’s biggest problem has been with their defence, keeping only two clean sheets since November, but with the visitors having beaten the Merseysider’s earlier this season, Bet Victor are giving odds of 21/5 for Bournemouth to win against Everton. Three or more goals have been scored in four of Everton’s last five games in all competitions, compared to Bournemouth’s previous six. As a result, Marathon Bet are giving odds of 22/25 for Total Goals Over 2.5. And with Everton keeping only two clean sheets at home since October, while Bournemouth have managed just one shutout since November, 188 Bet are giving odds of 13/16 for Both Teams to Score. Given two of Everton and Bournemouth’s last three Premier League meetings has seen goals at both ends and three or more scored in total, Saturday’s clash should be an entertaining spectacle.
