Chelsea v Arsenal betting tips – Gunners 11/5 to give Jose more Blues
It never rains but it pours. Chelsea’s season started with a wobble against Swansea although worse has followed with defeats against Manchester City, Crystal Palace and Everton. The champions’ hopes of retaining their crown is dangling by a thread and Arsenal can extinguish the flame on Saturday if they are able to oblige at odds of 11/5 with William Hill. Arsene Wenger isn’t in the habit of getting the better of Jose Mourinho although the Gunners did win the Community Shield match in August by a single goal, with Arsenal managing ten points from five games played. Victories on the road against Crystal Palace and Newcastle have been pragmatic rather than spectacular, with the defence looking good despite the absence of Per Mertesacker. As you might expect, Chelsea are favourites although Paddy Power’s 7/5 is as big as the Blues have been to win this fixture for some time. They have won the last three encounters at the Bridge including a 6-0 thrashing two seasons ago. But Arsenal are made of sterner stuff these days and Alexis Sanchez could prove to win the battle of the former Barcelona stars when he goes up against Pedro. The Chilean has come desperately close to scoring this season and Coral ofer 12/1 that he breaks the deadlock, with Wenger having to choose between Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud for the central striking role. As for Chelsea, much has been written about Eden Hazard who was Player of the Year for 2014/15 and perhaps this is the game where the Belgian steps up to the plate.
