Can Paris Saint-Germain stop Barcelona in their tracks?
Two stand-out Champions League ties emerged from the quarter final draw and it will be PSG v Barcelona on Wednesday 15 April as two European heavyweights clash in the capital of France.
Paris Saint-Germain beat Barcelona earlier this season although the bookies still make them outsiders to win this first leg clash, with Coral going 10/3 about a win for Laurent Blanc’s side.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a big miss after the Swede was sent off during that dramatic match against Chelsea and perhaps Barca will turn the screw after a relatively comfortable win over Manchester City in the last round.
Indeed, there is only Betfred who are going even money about the Spanish league leaders, with every other bookie quoting odds-on that Luis Enrique’s side make a decisive step towards the semi-finals.
The Catalan side are no bigger than 1/3 to emerge from the two-legged tie although it’s worth noting that PSG beat Barcelona 3-2 in Paris before a 3-1 reverse at the Nou Camp so there appears to be relatively little between the two sides.
The big question is whether David Luiz and Thiago Silva can handle compatriot Neymar along with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, with the South Americans clashing all over the park and several bookings are likely in both matches.
William Hill offer 4/5 that both teams score in this first leg match, with this looking a decent price considering that PSG will be desperate to get some kind of advantage while an away goal or two for Barcelona will do nicely!
